You are needed - to fix a problem with the EGM

Kia ora koutou Leaders

I need to inform you that our EGM on Saturday 22 June encountered a major glitch. Despite our best efforts to achieve a quorum, and thinking that we did on Saturday, a post-meeting reconciliation of the attendance shows that there were only 29 present and not 30.

This means we have to try to achieve Leader consent to the new constitution another way. This will be by online voting followed by a Facebook meeting. Please find attached to this message a brief explanatory note about the process of changing the constitution, which is similar to what was presented on Saturday. Also attached is the final draft of the constitution for you to refer to.

Online voting
Online voting is now open and will close at 8pm on Sunday 30 June. Here is the link to the Google form to vote for the three constitution related resolutions.

People who have already sent in postal votes will have those earlier votes recognised and do not have to vote again. A minimum of 30 votes is needed to validate the voting so please make sure your voice is heard.

Facebook Online Meeting
The voting results will be announced at a Facebook meeting to be held at 8pm on Tuesday 2 July. The meeting will be asked to accept the voting results. A minimum attendance of 30 is required at this meeting so please mark your diaries for this very important responsibility you have to participate in a significant change for LLLNZ.

Details:
Date: Tuesday 2 July
Time: 8.00pm
Place: La Leche League NZ Leaders Facebook group – event

Thank you to all who did vote and/or were present at the required time on Saturday. Please continue to participate in this process and encourage all your New Zealand Leader colleagues to do the same.

Let’s get this across the line, please.

Nga mihi nui

Janine Pinkham
